Ministries

Children’s Ministry

At the Church of God of Prophecy in Ottawa, we are devoted to fostering children’s spiritual development from an early age because we recognize their position as priceless gifts from God. Our carefully designed children’s ministry aims to meaningfully engage kids and their families while fostering a love of God and His Word. We strive to help youngsters build a solid foundation of religion through age-appropriate programs and activities. They participate in lively Bible tales, study worship-inspiring spiritual songs, and use arts and crafts as a creative outlet. Our ministry promotes spiritual development and deep connections in a secure and nurturing setting by encouraging kids to identify and utilize their unique abilities and gifts to honor God.

Youth Ministry

Our vibrant Youth Ministry at the Church of God of Prophecy in Ottawa is dedicated to empowering young people aged 13 to 35 to become bold witnesses for Christ in their generation. Every Friday at 7:00 PM, we get together for lively worship, timely Bible study, and thought-provoking conversations about the opportunities and problems today’s young people face. In addition to our weekly meetings, our young people actively show others how much they love Christ by participating in community service projects and social activities. Our dedication lies in providing young people with the necessary resources and guidance to live out their religion authentically and make a meaningful contribution to their communities.

Men’s Ministry

We have established a Men’s Ministry to help men fulfill their God-given responsibilities as leaders in their homes, churches, and workplaces. Based on biblical teachings, our ministry inspires men to study Scripture more thoroughly, live a life centered around prayer and fasting, and support one another as they pursue their faith. We get together once a month for Bible studies and prayer breakfasts, offering a caring atmosphere where men can develop spiritually and deepen their bonds with other believers. Our goal is to enable men to live out their faith courageously and to honor God in all facets of their lives by providing them with accountability and encouragement.

Women’s Ministry

The women’s ministry equips, shares,  empowers, and mentors women to share their faith in the church and the community to walk in purpose and fulfill their destinies. Women are disciplining women in the bond of love. The older women walk in wisdom, and the younger women walk with zeal and enthusiasm. The women are unstoppable, modeling the love of Jesus Christ by presenting a holistic gospel to those in need.

Senior’s Ministry

We respect the wisdom, experience, and accomplishments that seniors have made to our community because they are essential members of our church family. Our Senior’s Ministry offers opportunities for companionship, spiritual development, and active involvement in church activities. We provide technology assistance to individuals who cannot attend in person so they can still stay in touch and be involved with our church community. We honor our seniors’ accomplishments and acknowledge their vital contributions to forming our church’s history and culture. We aim to provide a caring and encouraging atmosphere where older people can deepen their religious practice and become role models and mentors to the next generation.

Music Ministry

Our mission is to share the gospel of Jesus Christ through songs, tear down strongholds and set the captives free, encourage believers in their walk with Christ, lead the congregation in worship, and provide an avenue for everyone to share their gifts and participate in our worship service. The vision of our music ministry is to devote time to prayer and consecration to create an atmosphere that brings us into God’s presence. Our worship gives God the reign to move within our midst and do what He desires. “God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth” (John 4:24).

Sunday School Ministry

Our Sunday school ministry is a vital part of the church teaching ministry. It effectively carries out the teaching of Jesus Christ. The vision of the Sunday school is to reach out to the community, teach them the word of Jesus, win them to Christ, and disciple them into ministry to fulfill their purpose.

Bible Study

Our bible study aims to delve into the Word of God to see Jesus. We will study topics that impact our youth and family, relationships, signs of the time, impactful and healthy church, and the role of Jesus in this day and time. Our vision is to see all believers grow in faith, mature spiritually, and fulfill their destiny as followers of Jesus Christ. “Like newborn babies, you must crave pure spiritual milk so that you will grow into a full experience of salvation. Cry out for this nourishment.” (1 Peter 2:2).

Discipleship Ministry

Our Discipleship ministry connects people to God, the church, and each other to mature in faith and fulfill their purpose of winning the loss for Jesus Christ. Our vision is for all believers to follow Jesus Christ’s teachings and become vessels of honor. “Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.” (2 Tim 2: 21).

Evangelism Ministry

The evangelism ministry proclaims God’s love for people and the community, making disciples to win the lost for Jesus Christ. Our vision is to bridge the church and the community in faith, love, and service and impact our world for Jesus Christ.

Mission

As a local church, we strongly desire to make disciples of all nations to carry out the Great Commission. Our mission outreach goes beyond our neighborhood to support missionaries working here and overseas. To spread the gospel and provide for people’s material needs everywhere, we actively participate in the upbringing, education, and deployment of missionaries. In addition, we collaborate with neighborhood groups and ministries to address problems like homelessness, hunger, and social justice, showing Christ’s love via helpful support and selfless service.

Banquet and Hospitality

Our annual banquet highlights our church calendar, bringing together our church family and community for fellowship, celebration, and fundraising. This event provides essential funding for our mission and local ministries, allowing us to carry on improving the lives of people in our community. Various traditional and cultural dishes are served to guests, reflecting the diversity of our congregation and neighborhood. In addition to raising money, our banquet promotes harmony and fortifies bonds within our church community, encouraging us to extend Christ’s love to others.
